Terms of Use
Effective 17 August 2026The most important thing on this page. SettleUs is a record-keeping tool for money you already have and spend. It is not a bank, it does not hold or move your money, and nothing it shows is financial, tax or investment advice. Its projections are estimates based on the figures you type in.
1. Who we are
SettleUs is built and maintained by Shivlam, based in Ahmedabad, India. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Shivlam, and "you" means the person using the app.
2. What SettleUs does
SettleUs lets a household record its income, expenses, recurring bills, EMIs, udhaar and savings goals in one shared place, and shows summaries and projections from those records. Everything the app shows is calculated from what you and your family members enter.
3. Your account and your family
- You need an account to use the app. Keep your password to yourself and give us an email address you actually control.
- A family is created by one person and joined by others using a 6-letter invite code. Anyone holding that code can join and will then see all of that family's entries.
- You are responsible for who you share the code with. Treat it like a house key. If you think it has spread further than you intended, ask the family creator to check the members list in Settings.
- Every member of a family can add, edit and delete that family's entries. Each entry records who added it.
4. Using it fairly
Please do not use SettleUs to break the law, to store someone else's personal information without their knowledge, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend an account that does.
5. Accuracy is on both of us
We work to keep the maths correct, but the numbers you see depend entirely on what has been entered. If a bill is missing or an amount is mistyped, the projection will be wrong. Please check anything important before acting on it, and never treat a month-end projection as a guarantee.
6. Not financial advice
Nothing in SettleUs, including budget warnings, cash runway figures, goal suggestions or shortfall alerts, is advice about what you should do with your money. We are not a registered investment adviser, financial adviser or lender. For decisions that matter, please speak to a qualified professional.
7. Availability and changes
SettleUs is currently free to use. We may add paid features later, and we will say so clearly before anything you already use starts costing money. We may also change, pause or withdraw parts of the service. We do not promise uninterrupted uptime, and saving new entries needs an internet connection.
8. Your data
How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: your family's data is yours, we do not sell it, and you can delete it from inside the app at any time.
9. Ending it
You can stop using SettleUs whenever you like and delete your account from Settings → Delete my account. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why where we reasonably can.
10. Liability
SettleUs is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the app, including decisions made on the basis of figures it displays. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat will have jurisdiction.
